Dorsey represents oil and gas clients to acquire, develop, operate, and finance oil and gas projects.  This includes rendering drilling, division order, and acquisition title opinions.  We represent our clients on water rights issues and strategies.

Dorsey has extensive experience representing clients on surface and mineral leasing,  land transactions, federal, state, and local permitting, due diligence, and financing. We frequently represents clients on projects involving some combination of federal, state, private, and Indian lands. 

Dorsey also represents clients in administrative hearings and litigation related to oil and gas development and water rights, including before the Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining and the IBLA and IBIA. We frequently works with and appear before various administrative agencies. 

We also counsel and represent midstream oil and gas and other companies in exercising eminent domain for roads, pipelines, transmission lines, and other facilities. Dorsey also represents clients in lawsuits involving ownership and land use disputes in both federal and state court.
