Shootout Hunger Food Drive Competition

We are pleased to invite you to participate in our Uinta Basin Energy Operators SHOOTOUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE COMPETITION! Competition dates: August 24th to September 9th. Join us for a great opportunity to fill the shelves of the Basin’s local food pantry and give back to the community in which we work and live. Every employee is eligible to participate so it’s all hands on deck for this one! We encourage all companies to compete, whether large or small, and let’s see how much of a difference we can make. The winner will receive local recognition, an awesome trophy as well as bragging rights for the entire year!

UPA Food Drive Competition Points System

To encourage meaningful and high-impact giving, the following point structure will apply to this year’s competition:

Standard Pantry & Staple Items — 1 Point (Pantry staples and non-perishable food items).

Heavy / Low Nutritional Value Items — 0.5x Points (Bottled water and similar bulk items with lower nutritional impact).

Essential Household & High-Need Items — 2x Points (Nutritional and household essentials that are consistently in high demand by families and food pantries).

Fresh & Frozen Protein Donations — 3x Points (Fresh and frozen meat donations made through the Utah Farm Bureau/Miracle of Agriculture Foundation partnership and other approved protein donations coordinated through the food drive initiative will receive the highest point multiplier due to the critical need for protein assistance in local communities).

Please do not to bring large amounts of perishable items as they are often difficult to distribute before spoilage. Please avoid food in large single quantities - like 10, 25 or 50 lb. quantities as they cannot break them up to distribute to many - can only give to one. Smaller 1 lb. bags are best for distributing. If you have any questions about donations, please feel free to reach out to the food bank at (435) 722-5232 for further direction.

Competition results will be announced at the UPA Basin Shootout during lunch on September 10th from 12-1 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Hunting Preserve in Myton, UT. Shootout participation is not required, but we would love to have your company come and be part of the fun and sponsor a team.
